Uniteq came to us with a brief to launch their new clothing brand on social media. Twelve social clips and a hero film, all shot in a single day on location in Surrey, in mid-December.

The brief was clear from the outset, this wasn't a conventional fashion shoot. Uniteq wanted the brand to feel authentic and lived-in rather than polished and aspirational - clothing that looks like it belongs on real people doing real things, not on a studio set under perfect lighting. The creative direction followed from that, featuring handheld camera work, deliberate movement and the models directed to inhabit the clothes rather than model them.

Mid-December in Surrey is not the most forgiving filming environment especially when most of the filming was being done in drafty stables (the models were very grateful for the heated tackroom as somewhere to relax between takes). Short days, cold temperatures, and flat winter light are the reality of outdoor location shooting at that time of year and all of it had to be managed within a single shoot day without compromising the creative.

Every setup, every transition, every model direction had to be planned in advance to ensure the most efficient filming for the day.
